“ Every time we pass through Melfort we make sure to stop and eat here. First impression was that it looked a bit dated but looks can be decieving! The food is fresh and perfectly done EVERY TIME! Service is fast and friendly. Thank you for the fantastic meals! ”
“ Calamari was tough. We couldn't chew it. Didn't even eat half. They gave us fifty percent off, but it should have been no charge. Co worker also ordered wings, which I thought was too much, but good thing he got them. Was the best part of the meal. I had a t bone steak, which was thin and tough. Really.. could barely chew it. Really disappointed. Vegetables were cold. Not even warm enough to melt some butter on them. The bacon bits were tiny pieces of ham, I believe, and they serve the sour cream, bacon bits and chives, as if they could never buy them again. Co worker had new York steak. It was over cooked. Also a big disappointment. Salad was really small, and tomatoes were mushy. I had a similar experience years ago, and hadn't been back since, but it was my co workers birthday, and he wanted to go. He said he had a pizza there a few nights before, and it was really good. If I ever go back, it will be for pizza or pasta. No more 33 dollar steaks that feel like beef jerky, for me. Waitress was nice enough and fairly attentive. ”
“ I visited while in Melfort for one evening. The staff was nice and the place and restroom was clean. I asked for meal recommendations and received several. I ordered the Greek salad which was good but too heavy with the dressing. When the server asked me if I wanted the dressing in the salad or on the side, I should have ordered it on the side.for my main, I had the Greek ribs. They were tough. I couldn’t get all of the meat off. I assume that they were not brined or boiled in preparation. And I sampled the pizza. You know what they say about pizza. Even when it’s bad, it’s still pretty good. JK. The pizza was decent. ”
“ My wife and I always stop here to have lunch when we’re in Melfort for business. The food and service are always amazing. Last night, driving through Melfort from Regina to PA we ordered a pizza 30 minutes south of town. When we arrived it was ready as they had said it would be, hot out of the oven. It was also one of the best pizzas we’ve ever had. When the young lady we picked it up from found out we were eating on the run, she immediately added a couple paper plates, napkins and wet naps. Great service! Keep up the good work Venice House! ”
“ My husband and I decided to stop for lunch at Venice House, and we were pleasantly amazed! Right upon entering, I loved the ambiance and style of the place. A young lady greeted us warmly and let us choose any seat, as there weren’t many customers when we arrived. Since it was our first time dining here, she patiently answered our questions, even mentioning that she was still learning, yet she handled everything exceptionally and provided top-notch service. As for the food, it was flavorful and nicely presented. My husband ordered the Mushroom Chicken, which he said was perfectly seasoned, with tender chicken and a deliciously creamy mushroom sauce that really hit the spot. I tried the Chicken Souvlaki, and while the chicken was slightly undercooked, the flavors were wonderful, well-marinated with a perfect blend of spices. The sides were also fresh; the vegetables had just the right amount of seasoning, and the rice was fluffy and aromatic, complementing the chicken beautifully. The washrooms were clean and well-maintained. All in all, we’d happily stop by again on our next visit to Melfort and would definitely recommend Venice House to family and friends. Foodie approved! “ Staying in Melfort and Sheldon from CanAlta hotel recommended the Venice House Pizza restaurant. Murphy’s lounge is where I stopped and ordered a Cesar, then ordered medium all meat with mushrooms. The crust was cooked just right. Lots of toppings and the cheddar and mozzarella mix was baked perfect. They do two for one only with takeout or delivery. Not much more for the extra pizza. Maybe 10 dollars more. Well worth the price. The medium filled me for supper and have half left over for lunch. Service was very good. She acknowledged me right away took me to lounge and took my drink order. Brought drink and took my food order. Before u know it the pizza arrived. New it was going to be one of the better pizzas looking at the cheese being a bit brown. Geez thinking about one more piece after mentioning the greatness of the pizza. Even got a candy cane. This will be a stop when in the area again. ”
“ Decided to eat here for supper with my family. The dining room was less than half full but we were seated next to the entrance door which I don’t like because every person that walks in has to stand next to me while they wait to be seated. The young lady that had waited on us, while nice seemed to struggle with English. I ordered the chicken nuggets for my son and asked for fries with it twice. His meal came with side veggies instead. That mistake cost me an extra 7$ so he could have fries. When I went to pay for everything the drink special Cesar was supposed to be 6$ but had attempted to charge 8$ so I had to correct that. The men’s washroom had signs of recent water damage and the smell of mildew. ”
